“Sache Gits” tells the story of Janosch, a quiet drug dealer who wanders through Zurich’s nightlife with a pizza box. In a world full of superficiality, excess and loneliness, he meets Saskia, a call girl leading a double life. A quiet, honest connection develops between them. The script highlights the contrast between consumerism and genuine closeness – with subtle humour, a socially critical undertone, and poetic melancholy. An urban portrait of the lost in a sparkling, cold city.

Character: Manesh (English-speaking role)
Role: Major supporting role
Playing age: 25–35, male, South Asian (India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh or similar), with an Indian accent

Short description:
Manesh is an engineer type with strong self-confidence who takes up a lot of space in social settings. He’s slightly unaware of the social dynamics in the room, and his boldness comes across as courageous, intrusive, and a bit uncomfortable.

The short film is primarily in Swiss German, with some scenes featuring a lot of English dialogue. While German/Swiss German is helpful during the production process, the role itself requires no knowledge of German.

Casting dates: 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th of July
Filming: On weekends between 26th September and 26th October (this role requires two shooting days)
As this is a student project, no fee can be paid. However, expenses and meals are covered.
