CASTING CALL FOR THE ROLE OF MARTIN

Hi everyone!
We are Azzurra and Livio, students at SAE Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. We are currently working on our diploma project, a short film titled For Your Own Good – You Are Worth It. The shooting is scheduled to take place in April and/or May 2025 (exact dates to be confirmed) in the Canton of Ticino, Switzerland, and will not exceed a total of 5 days (barring unforeseen circumstances).
We are seeking a talented actor to play Martin. This compelling story follows Amalia, a young woman trapped in a toxic relationship with her manipulative boyfriend, Leo. As Amalia struggles between her love for Leo and the growing emotional pain, she finds a safe harbour in her friend Martin, who encourages her to put her well-being first.
Role Description:
- Character: Martin
- Age of the character: 28 years old
- Background: Leo’s roommate and Amalia's friend who supports and helps her realize that love should not mean suffering.
Plot Summary: Amalia finds solace in her friend Martin, whose compassion and encouragement help her realize that true love should not entail suffering. With Martin's support, Amalia reaches a breaking point and makes the difficult decision to break free from Leo's grip, symbolized by a metaphorical leap from the diving board. The film explores themes of self-love, emotional abuse, and personal growth, showcasing Amalia's journey towards healing and freedom.
Essential Requirements:
1. Emotional Range: Ability to convey a wide range of emotions, from vulnerability to strength.
2. Language Skills: Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment, with good to excellent English pronunciation.
Preferred Requirements:
1. Experience: Proven experience in portraying complex characters in emotionally charged scenes.
What We Offer:
As a student film project, we are unable to offer monetary compensation but we do provide the following benefits:
1. Cost Coverage: Meals and Accommodation (you will be invited to stay at our home, no hotel or other lodging).
